Yume...
Yume...['yu-meh']...the Japanese word for 'dreams'.
Do you ever have recurring dreams? Dreams that occur every now and again, but are similar, giving you a sense of deja vu, of a "I've been here before, seen and heard that before" kind of feeling? It's not so bad if they are nice pleasant dreams, but it's really freaky and creeps me out when I get the kind of disconcerting unpleasant dreams which I can only remember patches of when I wake up, leaving me feeling really unnerved and uncomfortable. More often than not, these dreams occur when I'm sleeping outside of a normal sleeping time, e.g. in the afternoon or something like that. And somehow or rather, they usually (but not always) involve people that I know, my family & my friends. Many a time they're not people that are directly around me, but people that are far away from me in real life. Maybe a subtle reminder to myself that I should keep in touch better...? Hmmm...
I do have a couple of dreams that have recurred a few times over the last few years. Never back to back, the time between each recurrence could be over a year, or after a few months. One of it involves this horrifying dream of my tooth/teeth falling out, usually for no particular reason, and me bleeding all over in my mouth. But somehow, I always seem to be not really bothered in the dream, although I will wake up with palpitations and feeling really disturbed. Very very disturbed. And double triple checking that ALL my teeth are still intact in my mouth without any signs of blood around me. And I can't remember any specific tooth that has fallen out more than once, though I know that different teeth have fallen out in different dreams. Ughhh..!! Gross to the highest level. Must be that creepy movie 'The Dentist' still lurking somewhere there at the back of my mind. Blehh!
Another on and off recurring dream that I have is of me in this particular house, or rather, wooden-like haunting mansion-like building with many different levels and different rooms, and always with people that I know, be it family members or friends. And there's always this creepy feeling that accompanies me when I'm in the dream, and after I wake up from the dream, although I can never remember the particular circumstances of what makes me feel creeped out and scared and nervous. And I'm there watching people, talking to people, running around from one room to another, getting palpitations even in my dream. Weirddddddd........ :P Ackkkk hope I don't get any dreams tonight. Already getting a bit freaked out from trying to recall these dreams.
On a happier and cheerier note though, we celebrated Luke's birthday a few times this past week ;) And we had good news from him too!! Yeay!!! So glad for you Lukey!!! Wishing you all the happiness in the world ya!! *hugz* A few photos from his birthday celebrations (these are from the Sat nite dinner):
