Back in Newcastle
Ahhh...it's been over a month and a half since I last posted. So much for trying to post an entry everyday. I guess I was just depressed during the exam period and before the holidays that I needed an outlet to vent my frustrations and destress. Right now, I'm just back to being my oh-so-lazy self ;D
I've been back in Newcastle for the last 3 weeks now, and I've finally started 4th year of med school. Really enjoying myself, as we're only having lectures and group work/seminars now, with quite a lot of time off, including totally free Wednesdays! Glory! Hahh!! And I managed to 'secure' all my top 3 choices for the SSCs coming up beginning of next year too...I'm doing Perioperative & Critical Care (a.k.a. Anaesthetics) for my 1st SSC, which is the audit and poster presentation, Acute Paediatrics for my 2nd SSC, the oral presentation, and finally Neurosurgery for the 3rd SSC, which I'll be doing together with Imaan. Cool!! Chose neurosurgery just coz it sounded quite cool & interesting, plus it's something that we don't really ever get to see as med students coz it's quite specialised. Happy happy! ^_^
Oh, and the reason why I'm back blogging is because I finally got my new laptop ;)) Bought a Dell Inspiron 6400 which is just fab, and fingers crossed, hope it won't crash on me like my previous Acer!! Loving the new notebook! It's in the little claustrophobic study room next to my bedroom so that I don't have to 'fight' to use the computer with my other half now, I get to play the songs I wanna hear (and so does he), and I get a little space of my own too. Which is good for everyone involved...I hope! Haha...
Currently, my room looks like a dumpster with most of my clothes all over the floor so it's off limits to everyone else for the moment.Hope HAVE to get it cleaned up soon. Seriously.
I've got a new obsession (to add on to the dozens of previous obsessions) -- House M.D. -- It's the best lah! You just have to watch it, although I can't really imagine how non-medics really understand all the medical terms or their significance thrown around in the series, e.g. LP (lumbar puncture), autoimmune diseases, hmmmm I don't know, but I just know that there're damn alot of things I wouldn't understand in House had I not been in med school for the last 3 years. But it's good entertainment though. *2 thumbs up* ;)
